Coworth Park … The wait is over

The much awaited latest addition to the Dorchester Collection of Hotels, Coworth Park, opened at the end of September this year. Set in 240 acres of Berkshire parkland and boasting a luxury eco-spa, tennis courts, croquet lawn, and polo grounds, this seventy room country house hotel exudes opulence and comfort, delivering state of the art facilities in an unobtrusive manner.

CGA integration, specialists in sound, lighting and video systems, was responsible for delivering the sound and lighting throughout the project, from their dining and function rooms in the 17th century manor house and out buildings through to the partially submerged luxury eco-spa.

Chris Gunton MD of CGA said “I am delighted with this project. Sound and lighting can do so much to improve the ambience of a venue and we have been able to balance this at Coworth with the need for excellent sound quality and minimum impact on the surroundings in design sensitive areas. Unobtrusive technology is obviously key so we have used plastered in speakers to minimise visual impact. In other areas, ceiling speakers and built in radio microphone aerials have been important to ensure a good sound balance and ease of presentations or speeches in function rooms with vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. To support John Campbell’s restaurant, events rooms have monitors at the dining tables to enable Chef’s table corporate dining events. The eco-spa, however, had different requirements; UK produced equipment to lower its carbon footprint, underwater speakers in some of the treatment rooms and multiple music sources to complement each area, maximising the guest experience. The results are stunning.”
